WeatherMVP
Moderation Policy

Effective Date: July 8, 2026

This Moderation Policy explains how Social Snowball LLC manages user-generated content (UGC) in WeatherMVP, including Stadium Chatter messages, venue tips, and other community contributions.

What Content Is Moderated

WeatherMVP moderates:

  • Stadium Chatter messages (venue-contextual chat)
  • Venue tip submissions
  • Venue name/address edit suggestions
  • User profile information visible to others
  • Field condition reports
  • Venue photos and images

Content Filtering

WeatherMVP filters objectionable content both client-side and server-side before messages are published to Stadium Chatter. The following categories of content are automatically blocked:

  • Profanity and vulgar language
  • Slurs and hate speech terms
  • Threats of violence or harm
  • Harassment and bullying phrases
  • False or abusive emergency reports
  • Spam patterns and unsolicited links
  • Private personal information (phone numbers, SSNs, credit cards)

When a message is filtered, the user sees a clear message: “This message could not be posted because it may violate WeatherMVP’s Community Guidelines.” The filtered content is logged in the moderation queue for review, and the source action is recorded as content_filter.

How to Report Content

In-app reporting: Tap the Report button on any Stadium Chatter message. Tapping Report immediately hides the message from the reporter’s feed and sends it to our moderation queue for review.

Email reporting: For content not covered by in-app tools, email support@weathermvp.app with the description of the content, approximate time, and venue name if applicable.

Emergency or safety threats: If content involves an immediate threat to safety, contact local emergency services first, then email us. We will cooperate with law enforcement.

How We Review Reports

When a user reports content:

  1. The report is logged in our moderation system with a timestamp, content ID, and reporter ID.
  2. Content that reaches 3 or more reports is automatically flagged for priority review.
  3. A moderation team member reviews flagged content.
  4. If content violates our Community Guidelines, it is removed.
  5. If content does not violate guidelines, it remains visible and the flag is cleared.

Block User

Every non-self message in Stadium Chatter has a visible Block User button. When a user blocks another user:

  • All messages from that user instantly disappear from the blocker’s feed
  • Future messages from the blocked user remain hidden
  • A StadiumChatterBlock record is created
  • A StadiumChatterReport record is created with source_action: block
  • The moderation queue receives it for review
  • The blocker sees: “User blocked. Their messages are hidden and WeatherMVP has been notified.”

Content Removal

Content may be removed if it:

  • Violates our Community Guidelines
  • Is determined to be spam, fake, or misleading
  • Is reported by multiple users and confirmed to be harmful
  • Contains illegal content
  • Poses a safety risk

Content is hidden from public view immediately upon severe violation determination and removed from the platform within 24–48 hours of review.

Account Consequences

Depending on severity and frequency of violations, accounts may receive:

  • A content removal without further action (first-time minor violations)
  • Temporary restriction from Stadium Chatter or UGC features
  • Account suspension pending review
  • Permanent account termination for severe or repeated violations

Users who believe their account was incorrectly actioned may contact us at support@weathermvp.app to request review.

Rate Limiting and Abuse Prevention

WeatherMVP applies rate limits to Stadium Chatter to prevent message flooding and spam. Users are limited to a maximum number of messages per minute per room. Automated posting, bots, and coordinated inauthentic behavior are prohibited.

Content Retention for Moderation

Reported content logs and moderation decisions are retained for security and compliance purposes even after account deletion or content removal. This allows us to identify repeat abuse patterns and cooperate with law enforcement if required.

Anonymized venue and community data (e.g. aggregate check-in counts) may be retained after individual user account deletion.

Emergency Safety Escalation

If any content in WeatherMVP involves an immediate credible threat to life or safety, contact emergency services (911) first. Then report the content to us at support@weathermvp.app with as much detail as possible. We will cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations.

24-Hour Moderation & Ejection Policy

WeatherMVP reviews objectionable content reports within 24 hours. Content that violates the Community Guidelines may be removed, and the user who provided the offending content may be ejected from Stadium Chatter or suspended from community features.

The moderation queue tracks:

  • Pending reports (from Report Message, Block User, and automatic content filtering)
  • Source action: report, block, or content_filter
  • Message ID, reported user, reporting user, room ID, reason, and notes
  • Created time and 24-hour due time
  • Admin action buttons to remove/hide content, eject/suspend users, and mark resolved

High-severity content (threats, illegal material, hate speech) is prioritized for immediate review. Standard moderation reports are reviewed within 72 hours.
