WeatherMVP lets you import your sports schedules by scanning a printed schedule with your camera, uploading a photo from your library, or uploading a file. This page explains how that data is handled and what privacy protections apply.
How Schedule Import Works
When you use the schedule import feature, you may:
- Take a photo of a printed or digital schedule using your device camera
- Upload an image from your photo library
- Upload a PDF, CSV, or document file
The image or file is processed to extract event data including:
- Event dates and times
- Opponent or event names
- Sport type
- Home or away designation
- Location information if present in the schedule text
AI Processing
Schedule images and files are processed using AI-assisted text extraction (OCR and language model parsing). This processing may be performed by Social Snowball LLC infrastructure or by trusted third-party AI services bound by data processing agreements.
What the AI sees: The text content of your schedule image — typically game dates, times, opponent names, and location names. This may include your team name.
What the AI does not use for training: Your schedule images and data are processed to extract events for your personal use and are not used to train AI models.
Camera and Photo Library Access
WeatherMVP requests camera and photo library access only when you explicitly choose to use the schedule import feature. We do not access your camera or photos in the background.
iOS permission prompts will explain the purpose clearly:
Camera: "WeatherMVP uses your camera so you can scan sports schedules and add events."
Photo Library: "WeatherMVP uses selected photos so you can import schedules from screenshots or saved images."
File Storage and Retention
Uploaded schedule images and files are temporarily stored to complete the extraction process. After events are extracted, the original file may be retained for a limited period to allow re-import or error correction, then deleted.
Extracted event data (dates, times, opponents, locations) is stored in your account and remains until you delete the events or delete your account.
Reviewing and Editing Imported Events
After import, all extracted events are presented for your review before being saved. You can:
- Edit or correct any field before saving
- Delete individual events before or after import
- Delete the entire imported schedule
Deleting Schedule Data
You may delete any imported event individually from the My Events screen, or delete all events as part of account deletion. See our Account Deletion page for details.
What Schedule Data Is Never Shared
- Your schedule images are never publicly shared
- Team names from imported schedules are not publicly displayed unless you explicitly share a schedule
- Schedule import data is linked to your account only
